it's the start of a new season. i love breathing in the cool, fresh, and crisp morning air; there is something about it that helps me stay calm through all the busyness in life. watching the flowers bloom and new life begin it's cycle just excites me. taking this break of blogging has allowed me to reflect on my life and learn to listen to God. this past year, i have really been struggling with my mental health. dealing with depression and anxiety haven't been easy, but i've gained some new perspective. looking at life might seem blurry at times. it may be hard to see or understand why certain things happen to us, but i believe in a savior who loves us unconditionally. he brings peace, and restores the brokenhearted. our struggles are what strengthen us. nothing you could ever do can separate you from his love. all you have to do is call on his name; raise your hands and cry out for your father. this is what children do, and we are children of God. if you are struggling with a mental illness, please know that you are never alone. 1 in 4 people will be affected by a mental or neurological disorder in their lifetime, and i am one of those four. my amazing friend, Sarah (you can view her blog here!) describes it perfectly: "Just like dealing with a cold, or a broken arm, mental illness is the same concept. It’s a sickness or an injury to your brain, so you should treat it the same way, and address it. You need to care for it, take medicine sometimes, and be extra kind to yourself." if you are having these feelings, i encourage you to tell someone you trust. whether that is a parent, sibling, aunt or uncle, grandparent, friend, youth leader, pastor; anyone. you aren't alone on this journey and you deserve all the support to help you get through this ♥ last week, a very special woman from my church named Laura (love you! ♥), posted something on her blog about anxiety. i wasn't having the best day, and my friend texted me about this new post telling me how much i had to read it. her words spoke to me. in her post was a song which i have fallen in love with; Prince of Peace by Hillsong United (you can listen to it here). feel free to give it a listen. i have been playing it non-stop since! i may not know where you girls are at in life, but i have been praying for you all ♥ keep on sending in the prayer requests, or if you would like to talk more, send me an email ([email protected]) In order to rise, you must first fall. God will pick you up.

on Good Friday, Christians remember the greatest sacrifice that Christ paid for our sins. He died for you on the cross so you could be set free. so you could live in freedom; free of guilt, sin, and heavy burdens. this act was out of his great love for us ♥ he made a way so we could have a relationship with him. be encouraged by that today. for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. john 3:16 love you all ♥ hello lovely ladies! i have always dreamed about this day of launching a blog and it has finally come! after many hours of trial and error and frustration, here we are! starting a blog has been something on my heart for a couple months now. after being inspired by many of my blogger friends and getting into the world of social media, the passion to make my own blog began to overflow. serving the Lord, encouraging others, and standing by others through their struggles have always been a joy for me; this is my dream for simple surrender. that this would be a place where we can share our faith, inspire and encourage one another, but most importantly; realize and believe who God really wants us to be. we were created to shine and live a life full of joy, not sorrow. today, a lot of girls feel they can't be themselves because they have to fit in. hurt starts to fester inside of our hearts and it's really hard. ladies, we weren't meant to live with this hurt. you weren't meant to go through this alone. i've been there, i know it gets really tough at times, but i believe there is an answer. there is a savior and his name is Jesus. he died for YOU. he took YOUR pain to the cross so that YOU wouldn't have to live with the pain and consequences. HE LOVES YOU! he loves you so so much and doesn't want to see his daughter in pain. these verses were put on my heart to share with you girls. "Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." -1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) "She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future." -Proverbs 31:25 (NLT) ladies, his word is the truth! there is a way out of this hurt and i believe someone reading this right now needed to hear that. if that person is you, i encourage you to talk to someone about it. seek a youth group in your city, a friend who knows Jesus, or me. i would love to talk to you about receiving this wonderful gift of freedom and joy and love.
i encourage you to step out of whatever may be holding you back. maybe it's fear of people judging you of your faith, maybe it's what your parents might think, or maybe it's just the fear of stepping out of your comfort zone and into this freedom. the Lord LOVES YOU! he loves you so so much that he wants to have a personal relationship with you. love you all so much ♥ thank you for stopping by and i hope to see you soon! stay connected: facebook page | instagram | twitter feel free to send me an email at: [email protected] |
